We were having just this discussion this morning. Our family (three human, one canine) puts out between 1/2 and 3/4 of a regular silver can each week. We also fill a blue box (or two depending on how lazy I am about breaking down boxes and crushing cans).

I can't wrap my head around folks complaining about the new bins that "only" hold three garbage cans full. People really need to adjust their attitudes and actions to adapt - not just to recycling, but to reducing as well. If a place like Whitehorse, Yukon can have alternate garbage and compost pickup weeks and use similar bins as they are bringing here, why does Winnipeg struggle with it so much?

They will - they are rolling it out when each garbage contract is up for tender.
